When Maria (the queen of elopement planning, credits below) reached out to us about Katie & Kevins elopement, excitement was an understatement.

It took place at one of our favorite places in New York, overlooking the Hudson Valley and Shawangunk Ridge.

The thing about mountain top elopements is that they are best timed at sunrise, which means the hike starts early and often in the dark. It's well worth it by the time you reach the summit because the lighting is absolutely perfect.

At the top we traded groomed trails for a wind swept mountain top. The bride and groom prepared for the first look in their wedding attire, both in their respected patch of private wood.
One of the best parts about having 2 photographers is all the perspectives you can get and trust me - Dan and I were all over that mountain.
It should go without saying that the ceremony was beautiful and intimate to say the least. Under a cloudless sky with handwritten vows they were married.
We stuck around to grab some wedding album worthy portraits and hoked back down. Obviously taking more photos along the way, we couldn't pass up the field we had passed on the way in.
Katie & Kevin having great taste in elopement locations, of course, live in a super cool house tucked away in the woods. The reception took place in their yard which is covered with the most angelic ferns and moss we've ever seen. Surrounded by flowers grown with Hudson Valley seed, where Katie works WHILE eating at a table Kevin made himself. They might be the most sustainable couple we've ever worked with.
They popped champagne and Kevin cracked an IPA. It was mellow, authentic, creative, and absolutely perfect. Once Dan and I had our fill of photographs in their fairy tale backyard and scratched Dakota the cattle dog behind the ears we headed, leaving Katie & Kevin to bask in the glory of man and wife! Dan and I could not be happier for them!
